Veerashaiva Lingayath Sanghatana honours Ramesh Hangloo

JAMMU, Sept 23: Ramesh Hangloo founder director of Radio Sharda a community Radio based in Jammu and Kashmir was today honoured during a function held at Bangalore.
The function was organised by Pradeep Kankanwadi, the founder and national president of the Veerashaiva Lingayath Sanghatana Vedike. The organisation is dedicated to the welfare and unity of the Veerashaiva Lingayath community which has significant influence in Karnataka.
The Radio Sharda broadcasts primarily in Kashmiri plays a pivotal role in preserving and promoting Kashmiri language, culture and heritage particularly for the displaced Kashmir Pandit community.
Radio Sharda has become a vital medium for keeping the community connected to its roots, offering educational content, music , cultural programme and discussions on various social and cultural issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradeep Kankanwadi acknowledged Hangloo’s contribution and said his works are being recognised outside Kashmir as well. He said his organisation recognises Hangloo’s work in preserving regional languages and traditions as an inspiration for other communities as well.
He said Hangloo’s works go beyond broadcasting. He is a social worker dedicated to the cause of promoting Kashmiri identity and working for the cause of Kashmiri Pandits.
