Advocate General D C Raina Resigns

JAMMU, Oct 18: Advocate General Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir D C Raina today submitted his resignation to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
Sources said that decision to resign from the post of Advocate General has been taken by D C Raina to enable the political Government to appoint a new person to the post. However, sources added that under new Business Rules, the Lieutenant Governor is not bound by the recommendation of the Cabinet on appointment of Advocate General.
“Lieutenant Governor will have the final word in appointment of Advocate General after consultation with present Government”, sources further said.
D C Raina was appointed first Advocate General of the Union Territory of J&K on November 1, 2019. He was appointed Advocate General thrice in erstwhile State of J&K—in September 2008, February 2016 and July 2018.
He has vast experience in various fields of Law-Constitutional, Service Matters, Civil Laws and Taxation Laws.
