Hyderabad/Jammu: A team of journalists from Jammu & Kashmir, along with Gayatri, Media Communication Officer from the Press Information Bureau, Telangana, visited the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) at Vidyanagar.
The delegation was warmly received by S. Priya, Principal of NSTI (Women), and N.S. Bannibagi, Principal of NSTI (Ramanthapur). They provided an overview of the various courses offered, including CITS, CTS, and AVTS, at the three institutes in Vidyanagar, Ramanthapur, and the women’s institute. The visit showcased the efforts of the Regional Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (RDSDE) Telangana in promoting skill development and vocational training. RDSDE oversees multiple NSTIs in the region, offering a wide range of courses under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) and Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS), ensuring hands-on training in diverse trades. A notable initiative is their mid-day meal program for trainees, supported by ECIL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR) to train retiring and retired Armed Forces personnel in fields like Automobile Technology and Drone Pilot training.
The journalists toured specialized labs at NSTI (Women), which is dedicated to empowering women through skill development. The institute offers long-term and short-term courses in trades such as Fashion Designing, Cosmetology, IT, and AI Programming, aimed at helping women become market-ready professionals. The journalists engaged with faculty and trainees, learning about the practical, hands-on training provided. Workshops in Turner, Fitter, Machinist, Automobile, and 3D Printing were also visited, highlighting the advanced facilities available for trainees.
The focus on women’s training and empowerment aligns with national priorities for economic growth. NSTI’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and employability was evident, and the visiting journalists were impressed with the diverse courses and modern equipment. They expressed admiration for the institute’s efforts to enhance skills and boost employment prospects for trainees.
NSTI Telangana’s pioneering initiatives, including its collaborations with industry leaders like Nippon Paints and Asian Paints, reinforce its dedication to innovative skill development.
