68th National School Games

JAMMU, Oct 31: Director General of Youth Services and Sports, Rajinder Singh Tara, convened a meeting with the conveners of various committees to ensure the upcoming National School Games (NSG) is a memorable event. Jammu is set to host around 4,000 athletes from across the country during the 68th NSG, which will be held at different venues in the city.
The sporting events, including Judo, Fencing, Wushu and Football will kick off on November 7, with Judo and conclude on December 10, with Football.
Tara expressed the Government’s commitment in promoting sports throughout Jammu and Kashmir, stating, “The Sports Minister leaves no stone unturned to ensure the sports fraternity flourishes. Hosting these historic national sporting events is a significant step towards making Jammu and Kashmir a sporting hub.”
He encouraged conveners to set an example of coordination and cooperation in conducting the events effectively. Emphasizing the importance of timely and fair results, he cautioned that delays could lead to suspicion and undermine the integrity of the competition.
During the meeting, Joint Director of Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Vaid Prakash, welcomed Tara and provided an overview of the committees established for the successful execution of the event.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Jitender Mishra, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Sunil Kumar Sharma Accounts Officer Directorate, Mool Raj Convener Control Room, Sukhdev Raj Sharma, Convener Reception Committee, Sunil Sambyal Convener Transport Committee, Rammurti, Convener Liaison Committee, Jaffar Hussain, Convener Boarding & Lodging/Press & Publicity Committee, Harvinder Kaur Convener Ceremonies Committee, Romesh Kumar Mishra Convener Equipment Committee, Tarseem Lal Convener Technical Committee, Jitender Singh, Jagdish Raj Convener Medical Committee, Joginder Sharma Convener Disciplinary Committee, Sarita Bandral Convener Anchoring Committee and Varinder Sharma Convener Hostel Committee.
