Freedom Cup 2024 concludes in Bani

KATHUA, Nov 17: The 7th Edition of the Freedom Cup cricket tournament, organized by Bharat Sports Club Bani in collaboration with NHPC Sewa-II Power Station Mashka, concluded today with great enthusiasm. A total of 16 teams participated in this week-long event.
In the final match, Chandiyar’s team won the toss and opted to bat first, setting a target of 83 runs in 12 overs. However, Backon’s team chased down the target in just 8 overs, clinching the Freedom Cup 2024 title in a dominant performance. Both the winning and runner-up teams were awarded trophies and cash prizes. Individual performances were also recognized, with Harry from Himachal Pradesh earning accolades for his exceptional contributions throughout the tournament. Harry took 10 wickets and scored 110 runs, and he was also named the Man of the Match in the final after scoring 47 runs off 18 balls.
MLA Dr. Rameshwar Singh graced the occasion as the chief guest and applauded the youth for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Dr. Singh presented the prizes and trophies to the winners and runners-up. Other notable attendees included Dr. Manohar Lal, Principal of Government Dakry College, Civil Engineer NHPC Sanjay Kumar, Man Singh, and other esteemed guests.
