SRINAGAR, Nov 18: Awantipora Police alongwith army 42 RR and CRPF 180 BN have arrested a terrorist affiliated with proscribed terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba
Acting on specific intelligence, Awantipora Police alongwith army 42 RR and CRPF 180 BN arrested one terrorist affiliated with proscribed terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba identified as Irshad Ahmad Chopan S/o Ab Rahman Chopan R/O Lurgam Tral from orchads of village Pinglish area of Police Station Tral .
Incriminating materials alongwith arms & ammunition including a Pistol, 18 live rounds of pistol, 02 magazines have been recovered from his possession.
Preliminary investigation reveals that he has been involved in terror related activities in South Kashmir Range.
Pertinent to mention here that he was involved in case FIR No. 114/2024 under sections 16 of ULAP Act 7/27 of IA Act and 109 BNS of Police Station Tral registered related to firing upon one Non local labourer namely Shubam Kumar R/o Bijnore UP on 24/10/2024 causing him critically injured.The investigation of the instant case is going on.
