Season’s First Snowfall Ends Two Months Drought In J&K’s Bhadarwah, Tourism Prospects Brightens Up

Bhaderwah Nov 24 : The residents of J&K’s Bhaderwah heaved a sigh of relief as they finally got respite from prolonged dry weather after valley received much needed rain while surrounding hills experienced season’s First snowfall last night.
The prolonged dry weather which has started taking toll on agriculture sector and resulting in large scale viral infections beside tourism industry also got affected badly due to now snow till last night finally got some respite as thin layer of snow engulfed entire surrounding hills of Bhaderwah valley.
Guldanda meadow located on Bhaderwah-Pathankot highway which became most visited snow destination of J&K last year due to abundant snow from as early as from October remained devoid of visitors this year due to dry weather.
Last night’s snowfall has finally brightened up the tourism prospects especially that of Guldanda as after last night’s snow fall, tourists from different parts of the country have already started converging there to enjoy the snow.
“We were waiting eagerly for the snow, as last year, Guldanda became the darling of snow lovers as the first snowfall was recorded in first week of October and after that it was no looking back as everyday hundreds of tourists visited here resulting in brisk business for dozens of local vendors,” Said a Local vendor Imran Ali (33) of Village Basti, Bhaderwah.
“Although it is too little and too late but still we are expecting that after last night’s snowfall, our business will pick up as on the very first day, visitors have started converging here, which surely is a good omen,” Imran added.
Meanwhile tourists who visited Guldanda today, seem throughly enjoying the white layer of snow at high altitude meadow.
“This is really like a fairytale as the beauty of snow filled meadow is breathtaking, we could not believe our luck that we are really here to witness these breathtaking locales. I would love to stay here forever,” Said a visitor from Mumbai Arun Bhosle.
