Sir,
The recent Legislative Assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir mark a crucial step toward re-establishing democratic governance. While the smooth conduct of elections is commendable, significant challenges lie ahead for the new government. The polarized electoral mandate between Jammu and Kashmir divisions demands a sensitive, inclusive approach to governance that respects regional concerns.
Equally pressing is the need to address economic, social, and security challenges. Modernizing agriculture, expanding industrial opportunities, and creating jobs for youth are essential for economic growth, while promoting social harmony remains vital for stability. Additionally, the persisting militancy threats require close coordination with central authorities to maintain peace.
J&K’s leadership must use this opportunity to foster unity, ensuring that development benefits reach all communities. Only then can the Union Territory build a prosperous, secure future for its citizens.
