JAMMU, Nov 29: Himachal Pradesh sealed a nail-biting 3-wicket victory over Jammu and Kashmir in their Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy encounter at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, BKC, Mumbai today.
Jammu and Kashmir, after struggling early on, posted a challenging total of 173/8 in their 20 overs. Vivrant Sharma top-scored with 39 runs off 24 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes. He was supported by Yudhvir Singh’s explosive 29 off 13 balls, featuring 1 four and 3 sixes. Qamran Iqbal added a steady 29 from 27 balls, while Abdul Samad (22 off 14 balls) and Auqib Nabi (14 off 9 balls) provided the late push. Vaibhav G. Arora and AS Jamwal were the pick of the bowlers for Himachal, taking 2 wickets each.
Chasing the target, Himachal Pradesh reached 177/7 in 19.3 overs, with MJ Dagar leading the way with a superb 65 off 38 balls, including 8 fours and 1 six. AR Kalsi also made a valuable contribution with 57 runs off 47 balls. Despite a spirited bowling performance from J&K’s Auqib Nabi, who claimed 3 wickets, Himachal managed to reach the target comfortably, winning by 3 wickets.
