42,000 jobs given, 11,000 posts referred
*JK will be among developed States of country soon

JAMMU, Nov 29: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said today that security forces have been given full freedom to crush terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and declared that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the day is not far when the UT will be among developed States of the country.

Addressing the gathering during ‘Ati Vishnu Mahayagya’ at Pouni in Reasi district, Sinha said some elements and our neighbour (a reference towards Pakistan) are trying to breach security and vitiate peace but we have given full freedom to security forces to crush the terrorism and its ecosystem.
“People should strengthen the hands of security forces to give befitting reply to all those trying to disturb peace in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.

Vowing to wipe out terror ecosystem, the Lieutenant Governor called upon every section of the society to discharge their responsibility and join the fight against terrorism to secure our future. He declared that terror ecosystem will be completely neutralized and terrorists will be wiped out from J&K.
“The nation will forever remain indebted to brave soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of unity, integrity, peace and progress. We have worked with sincerity and honesty to build a progressive and modern J&K of their dreams,” he added.
Sinha said the day is not far when Jammu and Kashmir will be among the developed States of the country. He said GDP of Jammu and Kashmir has risen sharply during last five years and is expected to go up further.
“The UT has received Rs 1.25 lakh crore worth investment proposals in the industrial sector. Of then, Rs 25,000 crore worth projects are on the ground and production has also started while more projects will be launched in next 4-6 months,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He said during last 4-5 years, the administration has brought transparency and accountability and many decisions have been taken towards digital governance.
Sinha said as many as 42,000 Government jobs have been given on the basis of transparency and merit during last 4 years while 11,000 vacancies have been referred to various recruitment agencies. Around 1200 cases of compassionate appointments including some of which were pending for last 20 years have also been cleared, he added.
“It did take some time to cleanse the system but definitely the jobs now are being given on merit,” he asserted.
Sinha said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several decisions have been taken since 2020 for equal rights to all citizens ending decades long injustice with many.
The LG also spoke on J&K’s exceptional journey towards growth and prosperity, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the last 50 months.
“We had envisioned a prosperous J&K UT and in the last 4 years, we have taken many steps to speed up infrastructure development, build an environment more conducive to industries and increase investment in various other sectors of economy,” he said.
Sinha observed that the people-centric policies, progressive reforms across the sectors and dedicated focus of the Government on the empowerment of youth, women, farmers and marginalised sections have paved the way for rapid and inclusive development of Jammu Kashmir.
He also urged the farmers and other stakeholders associated with agriculture & allied sectors to avail the benefits under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program.
On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor along with Sant Bal Yogeshwar Das Maharaj also unveiled the idol of Bhagwan Narayan.
Kuldeep Raj Dubey, Member of Legislative Assembly; Vishesh Paul Mahajan, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi; senior officials of civil & police administration, Army veterans; families of the martyrs and prominent citizens from all walks of life were present.
