JAMMU, Dec 7: Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademy (BDSA) organized a function at its premises in Roop Nagar, Jammu.
The function was presided over by B R Kundal, working president of BDSA Jammu & Kashmir. The event was conducted by Dr Rakesh Kumar Atri and witnessed the presence of several intellectuals, including Nagarmal, Mohan Lal Thappa, Harbans Lal, Dr Ramesh Chander, P L Bhushan, Dr Shubnam, S P Verma and Rajan Thappa.
In his presidential address, B R Kundal encouraged the younger generation to embrace positivity, honesty, and perseverance to advance the interests of the Dalit community and contribute to national progress.
Speaking on the occasion, Ruplal Bharati (Retired IFS) underscored education as a vital tool for the empowerment of marginalized communities and as a means to eradicate caste-based discrimination.
Hemraj Phounsa (Retired Executive Engineer) also spoke on the occasion.
