JAMMU, Dec 7: Demanding for opening of counters for Yatra Registration and Ropeway Registration at Jammu, a massive rally was taken out by activists of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (DF&SS) here today.
The rally was held under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta stated that the Yatra figure last year reached 80 lakhs and had been ever increasing since.
“Opening of Yatra Registration Counter and Ropeway Counter would ease the Registration traffic in Katra and would bring a sense of ease among the pilgrims, who suffer due to the lack of availability and knowledge. The move will also bring a sense of clarity among the pilgrims to decide about the permits and slots for Yatra and can easily book their transportation towards Katra depending on the availability.”
“Opening of these counters would likely increase the prospect of tourism in Jammu city, which has otherwise been suffering for a number of years due to the increased connectivity towards Katra and now in Srinagar. Local economy will be boosted by this move. Increased tourists will indirectly benefit businesses like hospitality, food and retail,” he added.
Among others who were present at the time of protest included Abhishek, Bantu, Ganesh, Raju, Kalu, Prem, Naresh, Vikky, Rampal and others.
