KATHUA, Dec 7: MLA Kathua, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, today laid foundation of works amounting to over Rs. 31 lakhs in Panchayat Mehtabpur and Kathua town.
BDO Kathua, Sakriti Koul, Assistant Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Avinash Gupta, Secretary Panchayat, JEs, Gram Rozgar Sevaks, Dilawar Singh and Priyanka Devi, former Sarpanchs of Mehtabpur Panchayat, former Naib Sarpanch, Caption (retd) Pawan Sharma, Suresh Kumar, president Mini Bus- Matador Union Kathua, Panchs and a large number of Panchayat residents were present on the occasion. MLA laid foundation of three lanes and drains of Panchayat amounting to Rs 24 Lakhs.
Later MLA accompanied by Prithvi Raj Sangra, Executive Officer, Municipal Council and JE started works of three lanes and drains in Ward No 19, 20 and 18 of Kathua aggregating to the fame of Rs. 30 lakhs.
MLA exhorted the officials to ensure quality execution of works. Later accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua Surinder Sharma, MLA inspected road just outside Deputy Commissioner Office Complex, Kathua where drain has been choked since last over a month. MLA asked ADDC to get the blockage cleared immediately by roping in Municipal Council and Public Works Department as this stagnated water is likely to pose serious health hazard besides causing inconvenience to the commuters.
