Seized Drugs Worth Rs One Cr Destroyed In Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 21: Jammu and Kashmir police have destroyed seized drugs worth Rs one cr in Sopore sub district, officials said.
The action was carried out on Friday in compliance with an order issued by the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Court in Baramulla, directing the destruction of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances through incineration.
According to police, the incineration took place at a designated and approved location in the Lassipora in Pulwama district.
The drugs destroyed were seized in 21 different NDPS cases registered in different Police Stations of Police District Sopore.
“During incineration, 123.728 kg of poppy straw/powder, 2811 bottles of codeine Phosphate & 28316 Capsules of Spasmoproxyvon was destroyed after following all legal requirements as envisaged under Rules, 2022 & was done strictly in compliance to directions issued by the Special Court (NDPS) Baramulla,” police said.
