Absconder held after 1 year

JAMMU, Dec 21: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in Nowabad area claimed today they have arrested an absconder who was evading his arrest for the past one year.
A police official said that one Jamal Din of Belicharana, Nikki Tawi, District Jammu, was wanted in case FIR number 151/2023 under section 420 of the IPC registered at Police Station Nowabad.
“But the accused was evading his arrest ever since he was booked for the crime,” he said.
Acting on human and technical intelligence, a team of Police Station Nowabad led by ASI Mumtaz Ahmed under the supervision of SHO Nowabad, Inspector Deepak Pathania, DySP Headquarters Ashok Kumar and SP City North Jammu Vivek Shekhar, the accused was arrested from Ramban today, he said.
The police official added that after completing the legal formalities, the accused was produced before the court of law for judicial determination.
