JAMMU, Dec 21: The Cyber Cell of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kulgam claimed to have solved several online financial fraud cases, thereby recovering a total of Rs 11, 09, 565.
Besides, 30 stolen smartphones were also recovered from various locations by the Cyber Cell.
A police official said that this year, numerous complaints were received from the public regarding the missing or stolen phones.
Acting on these complaints, he said, a special team of the Cyber Cell, led by DySP Headquarters Kulgam, made the significant strides by recovering 30 mobile phones from different locations. These phones were accordingly handed over to their rightful owners after completing the legal formalities.
Furthermore, he said that solving several online financial fraud cases, the Cyber Cell also recovered a total of Rs 11, 09, 565 and refunded it to the victims after following the legal procedures.
An amount of Rs 21, 88, 715 was also put on hold pending investigation in different cases, he said.
