Ex-students of SPPND GDC Samba comes together during ‘Alumni Meet’

SAMBA, Dec 21: SPPND Govt Degree College (GDC) Samba here today organized a grand Alumni Meet which brought together former students for a day of camaraderie and nostalgia.
The event themed ‘Celebrating the Past, Connecting for the Future’ aimed to strengthen the bond between alumni and their alma mater while fostering collaboration for institutional growth.
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of lamp followed by National Anthem recitation.
In her welcome address, Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri warmly greeted the alumni and expressed gratitude for their continued association.
She highlighted the significance of their contributions in shaping the College’s future and legacy.
A documentary presentation showcased College’s journey, achievements and milestones, offering alumni a nostalgic glimpse into their alma mater’s progress. The event also included election of Alumni Association’s Governing Body with Naresh Kumar elected as president, Bhuvnesh Pargal and Neha-vice presidents, Gulshan Sharma, general secretary, Rohit Singh, joint secretary, Nikhil Singh, treasurer and Mansi Charak, assistant treasurer.
An interactive session allowed the alumni to share their experiences, success stories and gratitude towards the faculty and institution for providing them with a strong foundation.
The 2022-23 alumni batch donated a water cooler to the College.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by Seema Sharma, convener of Alumni Committee.
Proceedings were conducted by Babita Kumari and Rubina Kousar, Assistant Professors, Department of Zoology.
