JAMMU, Dec 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) has directed the general secretaries of all recognized and affiliated sports associations to submit detailed information about Government employees and political figures holding positions within these associations.
The request, issued by the Chief Accounts Officer (CAO) of JKSC under notification no SC/628/8892-94 dated 20-12-2024, specifically refers to violations of Rule 26(x) of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council’s constitution and Rule 21 (1)(2) of the Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971.
The notification asked for the names of office bearers who are Government employees or politically connected, along with supporting documents, including No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) from their respective departments. The JKSC has set a deadline of December 24, 2024, for submitting this information, both in hard copy and via email.
Reports suggest that over 60 individuals, including bureaucrats, police officers (some retired), and political figures, are currently holding office in prominent sports bodies affiliated with the JKSC.
