JAMMU, Dec 21: In connection with martyrdom of Sahibzadas, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) here today organized a Punjabi Kavi Durbar dedicated to Char Sahibzadas (sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji) at Kartar Public School (KPS), Kathua.
The programme was held under the guidance of Harvinder Kour, Secretary JKAACL and Charanjit Singh Bhola, SGPC, Kathua was chief guest while Harpinder Singh was guest of honour.
Nirmaljeet Singh, Chairman KPS, Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi of JKAACL and Jang S Verman were also present on the occasion.
The programme was attended by the staff and students of higher classes.
Welcome address was delivered by Harpreet Kour, Principal KPS and after this the poets presented their poems on the themes of martyrdom of four sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji viz. Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh.
The poets who recited their poetry included Hazura Singh, Master Gurnam Singh, Saroj Bala, Master Jagdish Singh, Dr. Lekh Raj and Jang S. Verman.
Budding student poets of the School also presented their poems dedicated to the martyrs.
Jagtar Singh, Coordinator-cum Advisor SGPC, JK appreciated the organization of Kavi Durbar to commemorate the martyrdom of great Sahibzadas.
The programme was conducted by Avleen Kour of PKS.
Damanjit Kour, Vice Principal, KPS extended the vote of thanks.
