11 bovines rescued, smuggler arrested

UDHAMPUR, Dec 22: Udhampur Police foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station Rehambal and rescued 11 bovines besides arresting the smuggler.
These bovines were being smuggled in a vehicle bearing registration number JK14J-8611, which was intercepted by a Police team of Police Station Rehambal, headed by SHO Nishat Sumbria.
Police rescued the animals, which were tied in a cruel manner and being transported illegally without any valid permission. Driver of the vehicle, namely Muzamil Hussain, son of Mohd Farooq of Kalakote, Rajouri, was arrested on the spot while a case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered in this connection at Police Station Rehambal.
