JU organises workshop on ‘Research Methodology’

JAMMU, Dec 22: The week-long workshop on “Research Methodology,” jointly organized by the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre and the Department of Urdu, University of Jammu, concluded today with a valedictory function.
The valedictory session was presided over by Prof Mazher Mehdi from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), with Afad-ul-Mujataba, former ADGP and member of the Public Service Commission, as the chief guest. The event was also graced by Prof S K Pandita, Director, UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, and Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, Coordinator of the workshop.
Afad-ul-Mujataba emphasized that research is integral to human progress and urged the younger generation to understand and adopt effective research practices. He also highlighted the distinction between police and academic research.
In his presidential address, Prof Mazher Mehdi applauded the University of Jammu for organizing the workshop, elaborating on the aims and objectives of research and shedding light on essential research techniques.
The workshop witnessed active participation from nearly 70 participants, including research scholars and faculty members from various universities and colleges. Resource persons such as Prof Abu Kalam from MANUU, Hyderabad; Prof Mazher Mehdi from JNU, New Delhi; Prof Sucheta Pathania, Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Jammu; Prof Jigar Mohammad, former Dean, Research Studies, University of Jammu; Prof Anupama Vohra; Prof Mohammad Reyaz Ahmad; Prof Shohab Inayat Malik; and others contributed significantly to the workshop’s success.
The valedictory function concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants by the dignitaries. Prof S K Pandita, Director of UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the workshop’s success.
