Peddler nabbed with narcotics

RAJOURI, Jan 4: In a significant operation against drug trafficking, Rajouri Police, in collaboration with the Army, seized a consignment of narcotics at a naka checkpoint in Bharat Gala, Basali area today.
Reports said during routine checking, the naka team intercepted a motorcycle (Registration No. JK11E-7483) travelling from Thandi Kassi towards Bharat Gala. Upon inspection, the rider, identified as Akash Raina, son of Parveen Singh, a resident of Ninganar, Gambhir Brahmana, Rajouri, was found in possession of six challies of charas (cannabis resin) wrapped in corn husks.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 06/2025 at Police Station Rajouri under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The accused has been arrested, and an investigation is underway to identify the source and network behind the drug trade.
