Drug peddler nabbed with heroin

JAMMU, Jan 11: Continuing its crackdown on drug abuse, Janipur police, arrested a habitual drug peddler, Vinod Kumar alias Kuda, son of Joginder Pal of Dogra Hall, Jammu. The arrest was made near Roop Nagar when the suspect, riding a scooty, tried to flee upon spotting the police but was swiftly apprehended.
During the search, approximately 5 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. Investigations revealed that the accused has been involved in narcotics sales for years, targeting local youth to generate undue profits.
An FIR Number 04/2025 under the NDPS Act has been registered at Janipur Police Station, and further investigation is ongoing.
Vinod Kumar is part of a drug syndicate active in Jammu, responsible for pushing narcotics into the hands of vulnerable youth and contributing to overdose deaths in the area. This marks the fourth FIR against him under the NDPS Act.
