Sr journalist Ashwani Kumar’s wife passes away in Delhi

Press Club, staff express grief

JAMMU, Jan 11: Sunita Chandra wife of senior journalist Ashwani Kumar, former Bureau Chief of Aaj Tak news channel and ex president of the Press Club of Jammu, passed away today in New Delhi after illness.
She was admitted in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where she died this evening.
She was 61 and is survived by her husband and two daughters. Chandra was a social worker and used to work with street children under the Pahal project of Damodar Sati Udyog Sanstha. She educated more than 2000 children from the slum are as from different party of country including Jammu.
Ashwani Kumar and other family members were with her when she breathed her last.
Body of Sunita Chandra is being brought to Jammu for last rituals tomorrow.
Press Club of Jammu (PCJ) has condoled the demise of Ashwani Kumar’s wife.
In a statement, PCJ president Sanjeev Pargal conveyed heartfelt condolences and prayed for courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
Staff of the Press Club of Jammu has also expressed grief over the death of Kumar’s wife.
