JAMMU, Jan 13: A deputation of Panchayat Accounts Assistants of Rural Development Department (RDD) here today visited Excelsior office and highlighted that they were waiting for finalization of their service rules.
The deputation members claimed that 1889 employees of RDD were recruited to strengthen and bring transparency in Panchayati Raj Institutions but without service rules these employees lack promotional growth, which is a right for every employee.
“Many times files for career progression of Panchayat Accounts Assistants were moved in RDD and Finance Department but nothing fruitful emerged,” the deputation members maintained adding: “The Panchayat Accounts Assistants were recruited through JKSSB after the abrogation of Article 370 and was one of the biggest recruitment drives after the abrogation.”
J&K LG and CM in various meetings had instructed the departments to finalize the pending draft service rules of various cadres so that employees get their promotions whenever due.
Panchayat Accounts Assistants are performing various tasks at Block and Panchayat level besides handling various flagship schemes like SBM, MGNREGA etc but absence of service rules is victimizing these employees.
The deputation urged that the concerned departments should listen to their genuine demand of finalization of service rules so that they may also get a chance of growth in their services.
