JAMMU, Jan 24: In a major setback to the BJP, a large number of youth have joined the Congress under the leadership of senior Congress leader and DDC Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony.
Expressing their disillusionment with the BJP’s false promises and propaganda, the youth emphasized that the last ten years of BJP rule have been a period of deception, betrayal, and neglect for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the gathering, Tony lambasted the BJP for failing to deliver on its tall claims of development and employment generation. He said that unemployment in J&K has reached its peak under the BJP regime, making the region one of the worst affected in the country.
He further asserted that the youth have been the biggest victims of recruitment scams, as multiple selection lists were scrapped due to corruption and irregularities. The shattered dreams of thousands of aspirants stand as testimony to the BJP’s governance failure, he added.
Tony condemned the BJP for misleading the people with hollow slogans. He stated that inflation, economic distress, and administrative inefficiency have crippled the common man, while BJP leaders remain focused on self-promotion rather than addressing public grievances.
Welcoming the new members into the Congress, Tony reaffirmed that only the Congress party has a proven track record of inclusive development, social justice, and economic progress.
