Junaid’s ton, Kawal Preet’s 92 put J&K in strong position against Goa

JAMMU, Jan 25: Junaid Masood’s brilliant century and Kawal Preet Singh’s impressive 92 helped Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) reach a solid 331/5 on Day 1 of the Col CK Nayudu U-23 Men’s Multi-Day Tournament against Goa at Sanguem Cricket Ground in Goa today.
Opting to bat after winning the toss, J&K’s opening partnership between Qamran Iqbal and Junaid Masood laid a strong foundation. Junaid played a composed knock, scoring 106 runs off 192 balls, including 7 fours and a six. Kawal Preet contributed a well-paced 92 runs off 136 balls with 11 boundaries.
Qamran Iqbal made 31 runs, and Musaif Ajaz added 34 runs. At stumps, Arnav Gupta was unbeaten on 43 runs, while Mujtaba Yousuf remained not out on 19. For Goa, Manish P Kakode was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 2 wickets, while Samprakash Pal Desai, Yash Kasvankar, and Shadab Khan took one wicket each. J&K will aim to build on their solid total and look to extend their lead on Day 2 of the match.
