Sumit elected as President Tawi Trekkers J&K

JAMMU, Jan 25: Sumit Khajuria, a highly trained and experienced mountaineer was unanimously elected as the President of Tawi Trekkers J&K in an election meeting held at the Press Club of Jammu today. Sonam Sidharth was re-elected as the General Secretary, while the outgoing President, Shawetica Khajuria, was unanimously nominated as the Working President of the club.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including Anil Goswami, Chairman of the club and former Home Secretary of India; Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Co-Chairman and Vice President of Press Club of Jammu; Rahul Sharma, Patron and Chairman of Sprawling Buds ICSE School; Ram Khajuria, Advisor of the club and a veteran member; Vivek Chauhan, a veteran member and Principal of Oriental Academy Sr. Secondary School, Jammu; and Rakesh Goswami, an observer from the Mountaineering Association of J&K. Ashwani Sharma, former MLA and Patron of the club; Professor Lalit Magotra, Advisor; and Prem Sadotra, Legal Advisor, were unable to attend due to unavoidable reasons.
In addition to the key office bearers, Arti Sharma was re-elected as Senior Vice President, and Mridhu Padha and Seema were elected as Vice Presidents. Sonam Sidharth and Amit Khajuria were also unanimously elected as General Secretary and Joint Secretary of the club, respectively. Shashi Kant was re-elected as Treasurer. Several senior members, including international sport climber Shivani Charak, Shobha Rajput from Samba, Sushil Singh and Sunil Chakharia from Bishnah, Anukampa Sharma from Udhampur, Sourav Deep Singh from Surinsar, Binder Pal Singh, Prerna Charak from Rajouri, Sanjeevani from Mendhar, and Ulfat Khan from Bhaderwah, were also unanimously elected as Executive Members.
