JAMMU, Jan 27: Patriotic spirit and festivity marked the celebration of 76th Republic Day celebrations across Jammu division amid overwhelming participation from civil society, students and children.
UDHAMPUR: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana hoisted the National Flag at Boys Government Degree College. He inspected the parade and took salute at an impressive march past presented by 32 contingents drawn from District Police, SKPA, ITBP and NCC.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Republic Day is a day of celebration of the democratic values enshrined in the Indian Constitution. “The Constitution of India, which provides justice and equality to all, serves to strengthen the people economically, educationally and socially”, he added.
“We are indebted to the people whose supreme sacrifices made a significant impact on the nation. Their sacrifices are a source of inspiration for all Indians and the nation will always remember them,” he asserted. Hailing the contribution of Dr B R Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, Javed Rana said that he played a pivotal role in drafting this landmark document.
DDC Chairperson, Udhampur, Lal Chand; Member Legislative Assembly Udhampur West, Pawan Kumar Gupta; DDC Vice Chairperson, Juhi Manhas Pathania; DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Rayees Mohd Bhat; Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai; SSP, Amod Ashok Nagpure; ADDC, Rajinder Singh and other senior officers from district administration, Police, Army, BSF, CRPF, AIR Force, former PRI members besides prominent citizens of the district were present on the occasion.
KATHUA: The day was celebrated with patriotic fervor and grandeur at the Sports Stadium where the Minister for FCS&CA Transport, Youth Services and Sports, Information Technology, Science and Technology, ARI & Trainings, Satish Sharma, unfurled the National Flag.
The Minister took salute at an impressive march past by the contingents of Police, Paramilitary Forces, Forest Protection Force, college and school students besides police and school bands.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister extended heartfelt Republic Day greetings to the people and emphasized the importance of this day as celebration of India’s democratic values and the sacrifices made by the nation’s freedom fighters.
“It was on this day in 1950 that our nation embarked on a journey to create a society based on justice, fraternity and equality. This seven-decade-long journey of development is a testament to our inclusive ideology, national unity, hard work and dynamism.” he quoted, adding “today, a confident India stands as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world”.
MLA Kathua, Dr Bharat Bhushan; MLA Barnoti, Rajeev Jasrotia; MLA Hiranagar, Vijay Sharma; DDC Chairman, Col (Retd) Mahan Singh; Vice Chairman DDC, Raghunandan Singh; Ex MP Ch Lal Singh; DC Kathua, Dr Rakesh Minhas; SSP, Shobhit Saxena; ADC Ranjit Singh; ACR, Vishav Pratap Singh; CPO, Ranjit Thakur and other district and sectoral officers were also present.
DODA: The day was celebrated with grandeur and patriotic fervor at the Sports Stadium where unfurling of the Tricolour was done by District Development Council (DDC) Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal.
The DDC Chairman inspected the Parade in a beautifully decorated vehicle adorned with Tricolours and flowers and took the salute of at the march past comprising contingents drawn from the IRP 5th Battalion, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, Home Guard, JKP, SSB, NCC cadets, JK Police Band and school and college students.
Vice-Chairperson Sangeeta Bhagat, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh Rana, ADDC Pran Singh, ADC Sudershan Kumar and officers from all line departments attended the celebration.
On the occasion, DDC Chairman highlighted the district’s remarkable progress, crediting Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for ushering new era of development in Jammu and Kashmir. He listed ongoing and completed development projects under PMGSY, educational infrastructure under CSR initiative, and tourism promotion supported by the LG administration.
RAMBAN: Chairperson, District Development Council Dr Shamshad Shan, unfurled the Tricolor at District Police Lines.
MLA Arjun Singh Raju; Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kulbir Singh, SSP Traffic, Rohit Basotra, ADDC Roshan Lal. DDC Councillors, other civil and police officers, along with civil Society members, school students and staff were part of the celebration.
The Chairperson inspected the parade comprising 17 contingents, drawn from JKP (men and women), IRP, Forest Protection Force, and students from local schools and took the salute at the impressive march past. The Chairperson also highlighted achievements in the Health, Education, PMGSY, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, Agriculture and allied sectors.
The celebrations featured a vibrant cultural program presented by local artists and students, showcasing patriotic songs and other themes, which captivated the audience. Prizes were distributed by the chief guest among participants and awards were conferred upon outstanding officers, officials, students, artists and social workers for their exceptional contributions.
RAJOURI: The main event took place at the DPL grounds where District Development Council Chairperson, Advocate Chowdhary Naseem Liyaqat, unfurled the National Flag and took the ceremonial salute.
MLA Rajouri, Iftqar Ahmed, and MLA Thannamandi, Muzaffar Khan also attended the National Day celebration function. The grand parade showcased contingents from the JKAP, JK Executive Police, CRPF, JK Police Band, JK FPF, SPOs, NCC senior boys and girls, and various schools.
Prominent persons present were Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma; DIG Rajouri-Poonch, Tejinder Singh; SSP Rajouri, Gaurav Sikarwar; ADDC Rajouri, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, along with district heads of various departments, local representatives, and thousands of citizens.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson highlighted the historical significance of Republic Day. He lauded the district’s developmental progress and emphasized the collaborative efforts of the District Development Council and district administration in implementing various developmental initiatives.
REASI: The day was celebrated at General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium with great enthusiasm and zeal. DDC Chairperson Saraf Singh Nag took salute at an impressive parade comprising 19 contingents drawn from Police, CRPF, platoons of NCC cadets, School, besides formation of Police Band.
MLA Shri Mata Vaishno Devi constituency, Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik, SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh, ADDC Sukhdev Samyal, other officers, besides a large number of civil society members, students and children were part of the celebrations.
DDC Chairperson congratulated all participants for their wonderful performance and gave a brief on various development works in District Reasi.
ACR Anshumali Sharma, ASP Iftikhar, DySP Neeraj Padyar, DySP DAR Rohit Chahal, DFO, CEO, DSWO, ARTO, Youth Sports Officer, Xen PWD and PMGSY, DIO (Information), and other district officers were also present at the event.
KISHTWAR: The Chairperson District Development Council Pooja Thakur unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took the salute at the main event held on Historic Chowgan Ground.
The parade consisted of 15 contingents drawn from JK Police, IRP, CRPF, CISF, Forest Protection Force, Home Guard, Girls and Boys NCC Battalion Government Degree College and school children.
Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan; Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Javed Iqbal; CO 52nd Battalion CRPF, DDC members, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pawan Kotwal other officers from the civil and police administration, Army, CISF, CRPF, prominent members of society were also present at the occasion.
The event also featured scintillating cultural performances by students, all while adhering to SOPs, which highlighted the spirit of nationalism and patriotic zeal.
Remembering the contribution of Dr B R Ambedkar and others in framing the Constitution of India, the chief guest urged everyone to uphold Constitutional values and ethics in letter and spirit, emphasizing that this day holds great significance, as India became a secular, sovereign, socialistic and democratic republic on this day.
SAMBA: The main event took place at Rani Suchet Singh Stadium where the District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, Keshav Dutt Sharma, hoisted the National Flag and took the ceremonial salute from the parade commander and participating contingents drawn from Police, paramilitary forces, NCC cadets and students of educational institutions.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, cultural performances by students and artists from different schools and institutions showcased India’s rich heritage.
The celebrations were graced by MLA Vijaypur Chander Prakash Ganga, DDC Vice Chairman Balwan Singh, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rajesh Sharma; Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Varinder Singh Manhas and other senior officers. School teachers, students and members of the public participated in large numbers, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.
The DDC Chairman extended Republic Day greetings to the citizens and emphasized the importance of the day, remembering the vision of our Constitution makers. He also praised the efforts of the district administration, police and educational institutions for ensuring the success of the celebrations.
POONCH: The District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Tazim Akhter hoisted the National Flag at the Sports Stadium here.

The celebration featured an impressive parade by 28 contingents, drawn from JKP, JKAP, NCC, the Band of Police, CRPF, QRT Commandos, and students from various educational institutions.
A colorful cultural program showcased the rich traditions and talents of the community, further adding to the festive atmosphere.
In her address, Tazim Akhter congratulated the people of Poonch on this significant day, emphasizing the importance of the Indian Constitution in empowering citizens to elect their Government. She also listed developmental schemes being implemented in the district.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, celebrating the achievements of participants who received trophies and mementos for their contributions to the community, reinforcing the spirit of unity and progress in Poonch.
