JAMMU, Feb 3: Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against Pankaj Peter Shah, the then Commandant 115 Bn CRPF, Waheed-Ud-Din Mir, Rehana Farooq, Abdul Majeed Mir and Tehseen Nabi Bhat for awarding the contracts of supply of goods for the CRPF in lieu of undue pecuniary advantage.
According to the FIR, the complaint dated 15.01.2025 submitted by Ashok Kalra, Additional Superintendent of Police CBI/ACB Srinagar to DIG CBI/ACB reveals that between 2018 and 2021, Pankaj Peter Shah conspired with suppliers Waheed-Ud-Din Mir, Proprietor of M/s Peace Enterprises, Srinagar, Rehana Farooq, Proprietor of M/s Sanik Traders, Srinagar, Abdul Majeed Mir, Proprietor of M/s Zaffar Motors, Srinagar and Tehseen Nabi Bhat, Proprietor of M/s Grand Musa, Budgam to award them contracts of supply of goods for the CRPF in lieu of undue pecuniary advantage.
As such, the acts prima facie reveal commission of cognizable offence by accused and other unknown public servants and private persons under Section 5(1 )(d) read with 5(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 7 & 8 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 as amended in 2018 and Section 120-B of Ranbir Penal Code corresponding to Section 120-B of Indian Penal Code.
