J&K Fencing team screened for 38th National Games

JAMMU, Feb 3: The screening of the J&K Fencing Team for the 38th National Games, 2025 was conducted today by the J&K Sports Council at the Indoor Fencing Hall, M.A Stadium, Jammu. The screening was supervised by the J&K Sports Council’s Screening Committee, led by Baljinder Pal Singh, Divisional Sports Officer (DSO) J&K Sports Council (JKSC), along with International Referee Rashid Ahmed Choudhary and other notable International/ National players, including Javed Ahmed, Maninder Pal Singh and Adv. Supriya Chouhan.
The selected fencing team will be accompanied by Rachna Jamwal, Senior Coach at JKSC, and Shotu Lal Sharma, Fencing Instructor at JKSC, as team coaches. Adarsh Slathia will serve as the team manager. The fencing event is scheduled to take place in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, from February 9 to 13.
Vijay Kumar, President of the J&K Fencing Association, expressed his confidence in the team and extended his best wishes to the athletes, encouraging them to perform to the best of their abilities at the National Games.
The 12-member J&K Fencing team comprises the following athletes: Vishal Thapar, Sagar Sahil, Udhayveer Singh Chandel, Suryansh Sharma, Ajay Kumar, Sufyan Waheed Sohil, Sohit Thakur, Shivaansh Kapoor, Shreya Gupta, Rishika Khajuria, Kritarthi Kotwal and Chhavi Sharma.
