SAMBA, Feb 4: The Traffic Department today seized five vehicles for the violation of different road safety rules here and realized a sum of Rs 1 lakh as fine from the violators.
A police official said that a special checkpoint was set up at Nanke Chak area on the Jammu-Pathankot Highway to check the road safety violations.
During the operation, he said, around 60 vehicles were challaned and 5 were seized on-the-spot.
A fine of nearly Rs 1 lakh was realized from the violators during the action, he said.
Among the seized vehicles were one tractor, one car, and three motorcycles, all of which were found without proper documents.
DTI Rakesh Kumar stated that this crackdown will continue in the future as well, emphasizing that violators will not be spared.
