JAMMU, Feb 4: Bharat Tex 2025, a major international textile event, is set to play a pivotal role in India’s goal of achieving a $100 billion textiles export target by 2030.
This was stated by Dr Romesh Khajuria, Chairman of the Wool & Woollens Export Promotion Council (WWEPC), Ministry of Textiles, GoI.
Dr Khajuria was attending the 4th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) held in New Delhi.
The meeting was attended by prominent leaders from seven textile-based export promotion councils, including Naren Goenka, Chairman of BTTF, Badhresh Dhodia, Chairman and Rakesh Kumar, Secretary General of BTTF. Speaking on the occasion, Khajuria said that the event is already receiving significant international interest.
“Over 7,831 buyers have already registered, including 3,607 overseas buyers, 1,176 buying sourcing consultants and 1,896 business visitors. International buyers are expected from 126 countries, including Asia (1,706 buyers), Europe (686), Africa (210), Oceania (107), North America (325), South America (89) and the Caribbean (8),” he said.
As part of the international outreach, WWEPC has invited more than 275 overseas buyers, with representation from countries such as Australia, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Germany, Russia and Belarus. Additionally, over 100 exhibitors will be participating through WWEPC.
Dr Khajuria, who also serves as the Chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Wool Development and Marketing Association (JKWDMA), informed that the Jammu Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) will be actively participating in Bharat Tex 2025 with more than 45 entrepreneurs from Jammu and Kashmir.
Bharat Tex 2025 will take place for the second time from Feb 12-15, 2025, at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida and from Feb 14-17, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. It is poised to be one of the largest international textile exhibitions, featuring over 3500 exhibitors and more than 3000 overseas buyers.
The event will cover a sprawling area of approximately 200,000 square meters and is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors.
