JAMMU, Feb 5: To revive JAK Ex-Servicemen Cooperative Store, project orientation and membership drive was carried out today at Bari Brahmana and the event was attended by more than 500 Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris.
They were briefed by Maj. Gen. Goverdhan Singh Jamwal (Retd) and were apprised of the circumstances under which the Unit became sick.
Gen Jamwal urged all the Ex-Servicemen present there to join this Sainik Cooperative, started under the leadership of PM Modi and Amit Shah, Union Minister of Cooperatives.
He also lauded the help provided by Atal Dulloo, J&K Chief Secretary and Babila Rakwal, Secretary Cooperatives and her team.
Brig. (Dr.) Vijay Sagar Dheman, Managing Director, JAK Ex-Servicemen Cooperative Store Ltd gave an insight into the MoU signed with UNATI Agro Allied Marketing Multistate Cooperative Society and touched upon the brief plan of functioning.
Vikrant Dogra, Chairman, UNATI Agro Allied Marketing Multistate Cooperative Society gave details about operations, production, marketing and building a Sainik ecosystem of Agro products in J&K.
Balwan Singh, Director on Duty, Th Gulchain Singh Charak, president, Dogra Sadar Sabha, Col Kulbir Singh Jamwal, Col Paramjit Singh, Group Capt Arun Kumar Gandhotra, Group Capt Sanjeev Gupta, Abdul Majid Bhat, Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Department, Nk Dalbir Singh Bhatyal, vice president, Indian Ex-Services League and Vikrant Dogra, Chairman, UNATI AGRI Allied Marketing Multistate Cooperative Society were also present on the occasion.

A handout stated that due to some unjust policy on taxation, JAK Ex-Servicemen Cooperative Store had to be put in suspended animation. Now, due to the guidance provided by the leadership of Omar Abdullah, J&K Chief Minister and sustained efforts by Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, Chairman, JAK Ex-Servicemen Cooperative Store, this setup is being revived with the help of UNATI Agro Allied Multistate Marketing Cooperative Society Ltd.
