RAMBAN, Feb 6: In a head-on collision between a car and a motorcycle, a youth was killed on the spot while another sustained grievous injuries in Mehad area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway late Thursday evening.
Police sources informed that a motorcycle of Pulsar make bearing registration number JK19A-3200 hit a car of i-20 make bearing registration number JK06B-5680 in Mehad area leaving the pillion rider on the bike dead and the other rider in grievous injuries and both the dead and the injured were shifted to District Hospital Ramban.
The deceased was identified as Sandeep Singh, 26, son of Youdher Singh, resident of Gam Ramban.
The injured was identified as Sandeep Singh, son of Kartar Singh, resident of Sooli Gam, tehsil and district Ramban.
Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Ramban, Dr. Virender Trushal said that body of the deceased was kept in the mortuary of District Hospital Ramban for postmortem.
He further said that after providing medical aid, the injured youth was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu for specialized treatment.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigating.
Dy SP, Headquarters Ramban, Om Parkash informed that the car involved in the accident was seized.
