JAMMU: Special Crime Wing (SCW) Crime Branch Jammu on Thursday filed a charge-sheet in a case of cheating and fraud before the Sub-Judge, Jammu for judicial determination.
The charge sheet was presented in case FIR No. 11/2024 under Section 420 IPC against one Rohit Mahajan, son of Tarlok Chand Mahajan, resident of New Dishmesh Nagar, Digiana, Jammu.
“The case stems from a complaint, alleging that Rohit Mahajan fraudulently took Rs 5,00,000 as an advance on the pretext of providing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for land purchase but failed to deliver the promised document or return the money. Following a thorough investigation, the accused was found guilty of cheating, and a charge sheet was filed for judicial determination,” Crime Branch official said.
The case was investigated by Insp Tariq Hussain under the supervision of SSP SCW, Sanjay Parihar, and presented before the Sub-Judge, Jammu, official said adding that Crime Branch Jammu remains committed to combating fraud and ensuring justice.
