J&K Govt Emphasizes Priority, Protocol For Elected Representatives

Jammu, Feb 7: The General Administration Department (GAD) of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a circular directing all government officers and officials to give priority to elected representatives in public offices and official interactions.
The circular emphasizes that Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) play a crucial role in governance at the grassroots level. It mandates that government departments extend cooperation and address issues raised by these representatives on priority.
All officers and officials have been instructed to handle communications, requests, and grievances from elected representatives professionally and respectfully. Their concerns must be acknowledged and processed promptly.
Additionally, the circular states that elected representatives must be invited to all official functions and meetings held within their jurisdiction. The directive also applies when any dignitary visits the area.
The GAD has called for immediate and strict compliance with these instructions.
