JAMMU, Feb 6: The J&K UT Master Athletes have brought immense pride to the Union Territory by securing multiple medals at the National Masters Athletics Championship held in Trissur, Kerala. The event saw participation from athletes across 28 States and Union Territories and the J&K team performed exceptionally well, winning a number of medals across different events.
The athletes from J&K displayed remarkable skills, with Sudesh Bastora earning silver medals in the 400m run and 5000m walk, while also securing bronze in relays. Pushpavathi J P shined in the high jump and 400m hurdles, winning gold in both, along with silver in the long jump.
Rakesh Kumar’s performance in the 400m run and 100m hurdles earned him gold medals, while also contributing silver in the 400m hurdles and relays. Anuradha and Abhishek Sharma secured multiple medals in running events and relays, further adding to the total medal tally.
Leena Devi, Rampaul Kapoor, Rishi Chaudhary, Parvaz Ahmad and several others also made significant contributions by winning bronze and silver medals in their respective events. The athletes’ remarkable achievements reflect their dedication and hard work, and Tarseem Lal Bastora, General Secretary of the Association, congratulated them for their outstanding performances.
