“We appeal to the Union Finance Minister and Union Home Minister to look into the matter,” they said.
The Councillors informed that last year the budget allocation for Ladakh was Rs 6000 crore which has been reduced now by Rs 1300 crore.
“This is shocking for us and it will directly affect developments in Ladakh,” they maintained adding: “We are worried about the salaries of people which we have hired after outsourcing certain services.”
They also said that they have not yet paid to the trainers who have imparted many skills to the UT youth.
“As far as capital budget is concerned, many development works are going on and the reduction in budget will adversely impact them,” the Councillors of LAHDC Kargil continued.
They said that Ladakh LG had assured them that there was no dearth of funds with the Centre and they are also noticing the rapid progress of the country.
“We appeal to the Government to give us above Rs 6000 crore so that we may also stand at par with other UTs of the country,” they further said.
