Excise Deptt organises volleyball match and painting competition under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in GMHSS Domana, Jammu

KATHUA: On the directions of the Worthy Excise Commissioner, Sh. Subash Chander Chhibber and under supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Sh. Sanjay Bhat, ETO, City Excise Range North, Jammu Smt. Swati Gupta and with utmost cooperation of Principal , Sh. Mohinder Sharma and management of the Government Model Higher Secondary School, Domana,  City Excise Range, North, Jammu organised Vollyball Match and Drawing Competition on topic “Ill effects of drugs abuse and illicit trafficking of drugs”  at Domana, Jammu under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

Volleyball match was played between teams of Class 11th and Class 12th of the school, in which both the teams played with absolute passion and enthusiasm. The match was won by team of class 12th students.

Thereafter, a Painting Competition was conducted in which a total of 40 students of the School participated.

Gourav Sindhu, Savita Devi and Kanish Dev secured Ist, Second and Third positions respectively in the competition. Winners were awarded trophies, Medals  and all the participants were awarded certificates of appreciation beside refreshments for all the participants.

Further, students took an oath to stay away from drugs and prevent their peers from falling victim to drugs. During the event, Principal, staff members and student of Govt. Model Hr. Sec. School, Domana, Jammu, ETO, City Excise Range North, Jammu Smt. Swati Gupta , Inspectors Excise Amit Sharma, Yatinder Surmal, Sub Inspectors Varun Kanathia, Kunal Parihan and other excise officials of City Excise Range North, Jammu were also present for the encouragement and motivation of the participants/ students.

The primary objective of the event was to educate students about the dangers of drug abuse and encourage them to make informed choices. By engaging students in sports and creative activities, the Excise Department aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle and foster a sense of responsibility among the youth.

The gathering appreciated the efforts of Excise Department in generating awareness among the students regarding ill effects of the drugs abuse and to motivate them to participate in different sports activities for their better future.
