JAMMU, Feb 10: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has issued new rules for breaking tie situations in the selection process for direct category posts, both gazetted and non-gazetted.
As per an order, when selection is based on a written test, the older candidate will be preferred in case of a tie.
The same criterion applies if the selection is through interviews alone, the order said.
If both written examination and viva-voce are considered, preference will be given to the candidate with higher marks in the written test, the order further said.
In cases where multiple candidates have identical scores in both components, the one with higher marks in the basic educational qualification required for the post will be selected, it said.
