Bharat Tex 2025-Handicrafts showcasing India’s rich heritage, innovation

JAMMU, Feb 14: The 2nd edition of Bharat Tex 2025-Handicrafts, which is underway at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, is celebrating India’s rich traditions and modern advancements in handicrafts.
Organized by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and supported by the Ministry of Textiles, the event is a key segment of the global Bharat Tex 2025, spanning two venues—Greater Noida (Feb 12-15) for handicrafts, garment machinery, and dyes, and Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi (Feb 14-17) for the entire textile value chain.
The event, led by a consortium of 12 Textile Export Promotion Councils including the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), is expected to attract over 5,000 exhibitors, 6,000+ buyers from 110+ countries, and more than 1,20,000 visitors. Bharat Tex 2025 aims to foster partnerships, explore innovations, and showcase sustainability in textiles.
Dileep Baid, Chairman of EPCH, highlighted the event’s role in blending heritage with technology, featuring around 600 exhibitors, including exporters, designers, startups, and artisans. The exhibition will cover 15 product categories, including home décor, fashion accessories, furniture, textile machinery, and traditional toys.
Dr Rakesh Kumar, Chief Mentor & Director General of EPCH, emphasized the synergy between handicrafts and textiles, stating, “Bharat Tex 2025 provides buyers a unique opportunity to experience the best of both worlds.” The event will also host concurrent exhibitions such as the Garment Technology Expo 2025, DyeChem World 2025, and the 2nd India Sourcing Conclave 2025.
Dr Neeraj Khanna, Vice Chairman of EPCH, noted the presence of Geographical Indication (GI) certified handicrafts and textiles, enhancing global recognition for regional artisans. Special attractions include live craft demonstrations, a designer showcase, and interactive industry sessions on sustainability, trade financing, and design strategies.
With India’s handicrafts exports growing steadily—reaching Rs 32,758.80 crores in 2023-24—EPCH continues to promote the country as a premier supplier of high-quality handicrafts. Bharat Tex 2025 stands as a landmark event to propel India’s textile and handicraft industry onto the global stage.
