CCF Kashmir visits Shopian Forest Division

SHOPIAN, Feb 14: Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Kashmir, Irfan Rasool Wani here today visited Shopian Forest Division to take stock of development works, plantation schemes and discuss eco-restoration projects for Shopian district.
The CCF was accompanied by Dr. Arshdeep Singh, Conservator South Circle, DFO Shopian and DD FPF.
The CCF also participated in a plantation drive under the banner ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ at Zawoora Shopian and also briefed media about activities being taken up for forest health restoration as well as for providing local community with better environment.
He called for plantation of native fruit plants in forest fringe areas besides forest species as livelihood support measure.
This was followed by interaction with locals and Forest Frontline staff at Zampthri Shopian.
The CCF called upon the frontline staff to ensure that forest protection and rejuvenation is done with utmost dedication and zeal by achieving active co-operation of public at large.
He also visited the Nagar Van site at Yarwan Pulwama to take stock of the work being undertaken and issued on spot directions to the concerned officers to complete the work in a time bound manner.
CCF Wani had a detailed discussion with local people at CB Nath Yarwan regarding eco-development and sought their participation for preservation and judicious use of natural resources.
