JAMMU, Feb 14: Jammu Kashmir Police and Department of Political Science of GCW Parade Ground, Jammu organized an awareness lecture on newly framed “Criminal laws”. The aim is to make students aware of new laws BNS, BNSS and BSA. The program was organised under the mentorship of Principal of the college, Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo.
The resource persons of the event were Vikram Bhau, SDPO, Jammu North and Rakesh Jamwal, SHO Pacca Danga. Ulfat Khan, president of the college welcomed the resource persons, Principal and various faculty members of the College. Vikram Bhau in his talk focused on the various clauses of new criminal laws pertaining to Women and Children.
He also touched upon various other clauses of these laws dealing with different crimes in good detail. Rakesh Jamwal, in his address, motivated and encouraged the young female students to voice against various forms of women harassment in public places and also raised the issues of drug addiction, cyber frauds and ill effects of social media among young population.
Faculty members of different streams and more than hundred students attended the event. The programme culminated with vote of thanks presented by Prof. Jasneet Kour, HoD, Political Science.
