SRINAGAR, Feb 15: The Jammu & Kashmir Police today organized a special workshop on New Criminal Laws for officers stationed at the Police Headquarters Complex here.
The key speakers at the session included DIG (Personnel) J&K Police, Mubashir Latifi; JDP Crime, J&K, Laeeq Ahmad Dar, and CPO J&K Police, Suhaib Asharaf.
They provided detailed insights into the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), explaining their impact on criminal procedures and legal duties.
DIG Latifi emphasized the importance of the new reforms, particularly the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), for enhancing the operational capabilities of the police and ensuring justice.
He stressed that all officers must stay informed about these changes to effectively perform their duties and maintain public trust.
The JDP and CPO covered the procedural aspects of BNSS and BSA, clarifying how these laws would affect investigations, trials, and daily police responsibilities.
They also addressed questions from the officers, ensuring that everyone understood how to apply the new laws in their work.
This workshop was part of the J&K Police’s ongoing efforts to enhance the skills and knowledge of its officers, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle modern-day criminal challenges.
