Jammu, Feb 18: Police on Tuesday recovered ammunition from the forest area in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police here said that the team of Border Police has recovered ammunition and explosive substance from Chilla Danga Forest area in Samba.
A police party while performing patrolling in the Chilla Danga area, received an information regarding hideout of terrorist in the Kawala forest area.
Acting on the information, a police party conducted a thorough search operation and recovered ammunition and explosive substances that were concealed under the cavity of a tree and rock.
The recovery included 29 live rounds, one magazine of AK rifle, and explosive powder.
“It seems that some unknown anti-national elements have dumped this material acquired illegally through some medium to carry out terrorist acts and to cause damage to life and property, but the recovery has foiled and averted a major sabotage,” he said.
A case has been registered and an investigation started, said police.
