Justice Tashi Rabstan inaugurates new Munsiff Court Complex at Akhnoor

JAMMU: In a historic development aimed at enhancing access to justice and improving the legal infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, the newly built Munsiff Court complex Akhnoor was inaugurated on Monday by Justice Tashi Rabstan, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in the presence of Justice Sanjeev Kumar.

On their arrival at Akhnoor, the dignitaries were accorded floral welcome by the Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Jammu and Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Jammu. The contingent of District Police Jammu presented ceremonial guard of honour.
In his inaugural address, Justice Tashi Rabstan, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, emphasized the importance of expanding judicial facilities across the region.
He stated that this is a momentous occasion that will significantly improve the accessibility of justice for the people of Akhnoor.
“With the establishment of this court, we are taking a crucial step ensuring that the legal needs of our citizens are met efficiently and fairly,” he added.
Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Administrative Judge for District Jammu, in his address, emphasized that the new Court building will play a vital role in expediting the delivery of justice, especially for the people residing in the Akhnoor area and surrounding towns.
Yash Paul Bourney, Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Jammu, in his welcome address, expressed optimism regarding the positive impact this new facility will create in terms of reducing delays in case processing.
Rajesh Gupta, Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Jammu gave brief account of the project report.
President, Bar Association, Akhnoor lauded the proactive role of the High Court especially the Chief Justice in ensuring the completion of the project within the time line.
Thereafter Chief Justice of High Court and Ladakh and Administrative Judge for District Jammu presented memento to the contractor, Jalbir Singh for his continuous and tireless efforts and distributed blankets to other labourers as a token of appreciation of their hardwork.
Arushi Shukla, Munsiff Akhnoor conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Shahzad Azeem, Registrar General, M.K. Sharma, Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice, Preet Simran Grover, Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, Smriti Sharma, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Jammu, Mukhtar Ahmed, SDM Akhnoor, Satish Sharma, SDM Khour, Naresh Kumar, Tehsildar Akhnoor & local officers from Civil and Police Administration and officers from PWD (R&B), Jammu, Members of the Bar and local citizens were also present on the occasion.
