46 traffic violators challaned, 2 licenses to be suspended

RAJOURI, Feb 20: On the directions of the Transport Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, a team headed by ARTO, Rajouri Rajesh Gupta conducted a rigorous enforcement drive on the Rajouri-Poonch National Highway (NHW) and near a petrol pump in Rajouri today.
During the drive, both commercial and non-commercial vehicles were checked, and multiple violations of the Motor Vehicles Act were detected. As a result, 46 challans were issued for various infractions, including riding without a helmet, driving without seat belts, uninsured vehicles, overloading in goods vehicles, overloading in passenger vehicles, driving without Registration Certificate (R/P), using mobile phone while driving, Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate violation & driving without a valid license
A total fine of Rs 1,09,700 was imposed on traffic offenders. Additionally, two driving licenses have been recommended for suspension due to serious violations.
The ARTO Rajouri emphasized that such enforcement drives will continue to ensure road safety and strict compliance with traffic regulations. Vehicle owners and drivers are urged to adhere to traffic laws to avoid penalties and ensure safer roads for all.
