JAMMU: Central Bureau Investigation/ Anti-corruption Bureau registered a case against Jammu and Kashmir Police Officer rank of DySP in Disproportionate Assets Case.
According to the CBI that information has been received from reliable source to the effect that Adil Mushtaq, son of Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad had joined as Dy. Superintendent of Police (DySP), Jammu Kashmir Police Services (JKPS), in the Govt, of J&K, on 25th August, 2015 and during the period of his service from August 25, 2015 to September 19, 2023, he has amassed huge assets, in his name as well as in the name of his wife Syed Aruj Sadat, which are disproportionate to their known sources of income. Adil Mushtaq joined J&K Police as DySP on August 25, 2015.
During the Check period has been taken for his service period i.e. from August 25, 2015 to September 19, 2023. Since his wife Syed Anjj Sadat is also working, hence, her income and assets have also been taken into consideration. During the check period i.e. from August 25, 2015 to September 19, 2023, Adil Mushtaq has enriched himself by amassing movable and immovable assets, disproportionate to his known sources of income which was to the tune of Rs. 45,10,356.
The above facts prima-facie reveal commission of cognizable offences by Adil Mushtaq, DySP, punishable U/S 5(1)(e) read with 5(2) of prevention of Corruption Act, SVT 2006, 1949AD(J&K), Corresponding to Section 13 (1) (b) r/w 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) as amended by the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.
