JAMMU, Feb 20: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) felicitated the Jammu & Kashmir Netball team, led by Captain Akshit Arora, for winning a bronze medal at the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand. The competition saw participation from 29 teams and J&K secured third place with an outstanding performance.
BJP spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, along with RS Pura BJP district president Naresh Singh Jasrotia, presented mementos to the players. Balbir emphasized the importance of sports in society, stating that it plays a vital role in keeping youth away from harmful habits like drug addiction and also contributes to physical fitness, mental discipline, and focus.
Naresh Singh Jasrotia encouraged young people to balance sports with education to excel in life, noting the growing sports talent in Jammu & Kashmir. The felicitation event was organized by BJP Art & Culture Cell Convenor Kulbir Charak and Co-Convenor Sahil Mahajan, with senior party worker Vivek Patyal also in attendance.
